Bilaspur 15 August,2016 .Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect at St.Xavier’s High School,Bilaspur . The ceremony started at 8 AM in the school premises.
On this occasion, The Chief Guest was Dr.Kalwani,Freedom Fighter, Mr.A.Samantaray,Asstt.Director St.Xavier’s Chain of schools,Mr.B.B.Mahata,Principal Mrs.Swagata Sur,Vice Principal,Mrs,A.Lalita,Head Mistress,Mrs. Shipra Stephens,Head Mistress,Ms.Ananya Kar ,HRD ,large crowd of staff, students and parents were also present.
To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, the Chief Guest lighted the lamp in front of the portraits of Great Indian Freedom Fighters i.e. Mahatma Gandhi,Pt.Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose , Chandrasekhar Azad then unfurled the tricolour flag and all in unison sang the National Anthem and expressed the joy of our freedom.
Dr.Anita Singh,TGT Hindi whose 2nd book was inaugurated by the hand of the Chief Guest. Soon after tiny tots danced on the patriotic song “ Mile sur mera tumhara and amazed the audience by their performance. P.T.Drill and Group Song by high school students presented “Jago har insaan” and “Kurban vatan pe hote hai” in which the tiny tots disguised in the role of Gandhiji,Nehruji,ChandraShekhar Azad, Rani LaxmiBai,Khudi Ram Bose & Lala Lajpat Rai applauded from the audience. Afterwards , Group dance was presented by the middle students on “ Swaragini se saja Bharat Anokha Raag hai.”
Shruti Sharma of class XII shared her views on the significance of the day . Mrs. Anuja Mahant delivered a speech on the real meaning of independence ,civic sense , responsibility and maintain it .Soon after the students of middle school danced on the Patriotic song” Satyameva Jayate and awakened everyone’s feelings towards our Mother Land. Soon after Mrs. Anupama Gilotra delivered a speech on the importance of the day. Mr. A.Samantaray ,Asstt.Director,St.Xavier’s Chain of schools said that today’s students should think about the freedom and it is necessary to inculcate within us. The true freedom means when we make our country corruption free, and they should be filled by punctuality, good manners, positive attitude and communal harmony.
The Programme concluded up with the Vote of thanks by Sameer Saini & Savita Bhagtani of Class XII. At the end sweets were distributed to the students Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day to love and respect our country and make it a better place for Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.
